Roof consultation
With a Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) with the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) on staff, we can provide expert analysis of any type of commercial or residential roof issues. We are able to assist in the design, specification, and bid selection of commercial roofs as well as on-site quality assurance inspections during installation.
Structural surveys
As registered professional engineers (PEs), BEST can perform structural surveys from the roof to the foundation to identify problems and construction deficiencies. We have years of experience that you can rely on.
Building Enclosure Analysis
A Registered Exterior Wall Consultant and Registered Waterproofing Consultant rounds out the qualifications of BEST. We can survey and diagnose complex leaks and water intrusion problems within your home or business. After determining the issue, we can guide you to the correct repair.
ASTM Testing
We have extensive knowledge in ASTM testing for all building envelope related needs, including roof uplift, concrete slab moisture, window and fenestration, and much more!

M. Joseph Shahid, Jr., PE, RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC has performed thousands of structural, roof, and building enclosure surveys throughout the southeast since 2004. He has extensive experience on all types of commercial and residential construction including catastrophic hurricane and tornado damage, fires, flooding, insurance claims, and expert testimony. Trained as an accident investigator in the US Air Force, he uses his keen forensic skills, experience, and knowledge to provide clients the answers they need.
